Summer Session 2020 - Week 3

This final week of Summer Session 2020 Teaching Artist Claudia Alvarez challenged us to use a found object as a painting surface.  Now, in general this can be a challenge, but we had a very important layer in this task – the artwork had to address a community or social topic that we found particularly moving.  Environmental concerns, body image, racism, sexism, education, current events, and art as a tool for social change are some of the topics which inspired the work we created.
