As there are only 13 days remain until Christmas, let us share or create our own holiday card. Have you received one yet that you like and appreciate?

I make a card from one of my artworks made during the year. This year it is from a piece I made in the first ART YARD Advanced Studio session this semester. The quote on the back is from Helen Macdonald’s Vesper Flights which inspired the aforementioned class.
My wreath (a gift from my great aunt Anna Mae) also features a bird. As do the first two holiday cards I received.
Each year, for what is amazingly decades now, Marie Roberts has created beautiful works of art for our holiday cards. They reflect our lives in NYC and feature our dogs in peaceful settings at home or (when they were younger) romping in Central Park. It's a process for sure - but Marie is always so patient with me.
While our lives and holiday customs have changed over the years, the tradition of the cards continues and I hope it always will. I have every original piece (drawings, paintings, and now digital illustrations) and I'm posting some here for you to enjoy (in printed card form).
I've always received a tremendous amount of compliments about them - some people tell me that they've kept every single one. Our friend Patricia carefully cuts out the images of the dogs, punches a tiny hole, and it becomes next year's gift tag - another tradition I love.
I once read someone describe their tree decorating celebration in this way: "hundreds of ornaments, thousands of stories; a yearly time capsule of gratitude".
Quite true - and the art Marie creates for our cards is my annual time capsule of gratitude.

Thank you Dennis for such beautiful writing.
I love this !! What a beautiful tradition !!
@Dennis Buonagura Dennis I love Marie’s work and it’s really nice to see this selection of her cards. It’s great that you have such an art filled collaborative tradition!
Thanks. And of course that was only a tiny sampling of the many many cards.
Today's mail brought a new hand made art card from Felix Plaza (purple Buddha up front)!
I love your dancing holiday cats! The Kitty Rockettes! Felix's card is beautiful.
Thanks so much ! My mother gave me that many years ago. I put it up every year.
I'm really lucky - we receive lots of beautiful cards. Of course, I'm partial to those featuring dogs - and most especially cards which include photos of our friends' and family's dogs. Oh - and of course I like cat cards too!
Our friend's partner passed away during this year so he created a card in his memory - showing his last Christmas tree (2019). Jim loved Christmas so I'm sure he'd be very pleased.
That is a lovely tribute and a beautiful card.
My friend Isabel's card this year shows off her little 2 year old grandson Leo's holiday art. She lives in Cheltenham, England - just a few blocks away from where Leo lives.
That is a remarkable Santa from a 2 year old!
Fatima Traore sent me this photo of some of her favorite holiday cards for 2020 - and asked me to post them to CREATE for her. They're all beautiful - aren't they? Two of them look VERY familiar!
And the rug or blanket they are on looks like snow!
Love that Fatima 😍
I received more animal themed cards in today’s post!
the mice!!! I love that card. I wish I had tree decorating mice to help me!
The mice card reminded me of a movie called "Stuart Little-1999."
I was thinking about how our life has been digitized ,(in the ways we connect with each other therefore I tired make a holiday card as an animation)
Vera - that's fantastic. How does one save it or share it? And - would it be ok with you if I saved it or shared it?
Definitely I can send it to u
I love that!!
@veratineo That’s excellent Vera!
I sent this card as a thank you to a friend who helped out with something. I love the image and the location is a couple of blocks from where my friend lived when I met her!
Lola gets involved....
I never gift or get holiday cards considering they are not very sustainable. Like I get a lot of e-cards/invitation of some form. I don’t know if this falls in the holiday cards but I thought of postcards that are mainly just pictures of a landscape or landmark that tells people where they are in a current location and I thought that can be illustrated through the holiday in the same way. Photography that can be used in postcards for the holiday . Here are a few pics I took today that illustrate that in someway!
@nayarittineoOH THAT is a fantastic photo!!
