My example above shows my hands reflected in the front window of the Jalopy Theater in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It is a detail from the painting below (which is currently on view at Figureworks Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn).

Meridith McNeal, Inside Outside Music Lesson (Red Hook, Brooklyn), 2018, watercolor on paper, 32x24.5"
I look forward to seeing your reflected hands!
My hands reflected in the glass of the frame of a wonderful photograph of Coney Island in the snow which hangs in the hallway near my front door.
Self portrait, detail, oil on foam core (painted from a reflection!)
Oh Evelyn, that color! It’s like an Egon Schiele!!
Thank you!!! One of my favorite artists!
@evelyn.rv.beliveau Mine too! Did you see that show at MET Breuer? I just loved it!!
@frida@artyardbklyn.org unfortunately I didn't, but I did get to see his work in person at the Boston MFA a couple years ago!
Just love the way he combines such specific contour lines with heightened color
Egon Schiele, “Self Portrait with Hands on Chest.”
Gee wiz, look at that, we just moved into critique mode without even thinking about it! Cool.
Love it!!
@evelyn.rv.beliveau Evelyn, I am thinking of putting the Egon Schiele piece into the gallery, since we used it in our conversation. What do you think?
@frida@artyardbklyn.org sounds great!! Looking at pieces from art history always inspires me to draw or paint!
This is the shadow (not quite a reflection, but related) of my hand while I was outside hooping in the handball court.
Akash’s work: A hand looks into a pond, looking at his reflection
Akash, this is an excellent response to the reflection inspiration!
I love that the lines on the palms are so visible. I did a whole project where I beaded the lines of people's hands on vintage gloves. So this reminds me of that project! Here is a photo of some of the gloves:
Life goes on .....
Excellent image Dennis!! Thanks for posting.
Dennis, I just noticed that there are artworks reflected in the lid as well. I like all the layers you captured in this photograph. Not to mention, I bet it was a delicious dinner!
I THINK one of the artworks is a Claudia Alvarez!!! Am I right? (Just call me Art Teacher 007.)
@Meridith McNeal yes and one is Marie Roberts’
Elizabeth - that's a lovely photograph. Like Akash, your image shows the lines in the palm well. Maybe you could do a painting from that photo! That would be great with the play between the stems and the lines in the palm!
Also, the color in your painting and Fatima's painting posted below are very much in harmony. The two images would hand well together curatorially.
Reflection of the Times.
Alone Together is a depiction of multiple hands being raised in unity despite the Pandemic.
OHHHHH Fatima!!! I had to try a few times to get the message. Perfect for these days!!
Also, the color in your painting and Elizabeth's photo above are very much in harmony. The two images would hand well together curatorially.
Felix Plaza emailed this wonderful painting he is working on in response to our Reflection of a Hand inspiration:
Felix Plaza, "Mano Reflejo", painting in progress
Felix just sent an update of "Mano Reflejo" in progress (part 2)!
Finished painting from Felix!
