Ajani Russell (they/them) is a multi-media artist from Brooklyn New York. They received their BFA from California Institute of the Arts. After over a decade of participating in AYB classes they are now also an ART YARD Teaching Artist. Ajani is also a screen printing technician with Hit and Run Live Screen Printing, and has have done creative direction and/or consulting for brands like Air Jordan, HBO, and Nylon magazine Germany, as well as designed for Nike, H&M and Beams Tokyo. They have exhibited work at Elga Wimmer Gallery, Flux Factory, Corridor Gallery, Coaxial, St Joseph’s College Gallery. 

Ajani works in many media and styles. They utilize sound and light as moldable components of installations, video, ceramics, painting, sculpture, print, curation, and creative direction. Exploration and collaboration is an important part of making their art accessible to everyone.
