Jennifer Dodson
Teaching Artist and Art Therapeutic Advisor
Jennifer Dodson, MA, LPC, ATR-BC (she/her) is a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and Licensed Professional Counselor from Alexandria, Virginia. Jennifer received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Her involvement as a Rush Teaching Artist at the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation in Brooklyn, fueled her desire to pursue a master’s in art therapy. Jennifer graduated from The George Washington University Art Therapy Program where she interned at the GWU art therapy trauma clinic, serving adolescents and adults in the metropolitan D.C. area. She practices a trauma informed approach to art therapy for both individual clients as well as groups. Her previous experience includes art therapy with homeless adults at Friendship Place and Miriam’s Kitchen, as well as a shelter for abandoned women at The Banyan Tree in Channai, India. In her studio practice Jennifer's primary art medium is watercolor, but she also works in wood and wax.
