Meridith McNeal

Co-Founder and Director

ART YARD BKLYN is led by Meridith McNeal (she/her). Meridith is a Brooklyn-based artist, educator, curator, arts administrator and hula hooper. Meridith has over 25 years of experience in the field of arts education. She was Director of Education at Rush Arts and as Curator and Director of Education at Rotunda Gallery (BRIC) in Brooklyn. She has served as Visiting Professor at the college level undergraduate and graduate has ranged from art schools to colleges and universities, including Pratt Institute, Vermont College Union Institute, Royal Drawing School (London), BMCC, St. Joseph’s College, and Wagner College., and she has taught at the Brooklyn Museum and P.S.1 Museum of Contemporary Art. Meridith holds a BFA, an MFA, and New York State teaching certification. She has curated over 100 exhibitions and is on the artist advisory board of Kentler International Drawing Space; she has also served on the advisory board the Coney Island Museum and the Curatorial Committee of the Brooklyn Public Library. Meridith regularly exhibits her artwork in the United States and abroad. Her work is represented by Figureworks, Saugerties, NY; Flat Files at Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, NY; and Embrace Creatives, Detroit, MI.
