Come celebrate "Things That Happened" at Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling!

Please join us in celebrating AYB co-founder & director Meridith McNeal’s solo exhibition Things That Happened!

Sunday, May 26th from 3-5 pm

Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling

898 Saint Nicholas Ave., New York, NY

This will be the final celebration for this exhibition. The event is free and open to all AYB Artists!

Every piece on view in Meridith McNeal’s Things That Happened is a reflection of real events and experiences, where every stroke tells a tale, and every piece is a reflection of life's fleeting moments and the artist's journey.

The life-sized paintings on paper engage with the concept of external and internal space, using windows as symbols that invite multiple interpretations. Magical Things, a series of small watercolors celebrates the beauty of ordinary, often overlooked objects in our daily lives.

The artist draws parallels between these Things That Happened and Alice's journey in the looking-glass world. Like Alice, you is encouraged to get a little lost in the paintings. Allow your mind to wander, grow taller and smaller, and embrace the unexpected. As you explore this visual wonderland, you may find that, much like Alice, the experience fills your head with ideas and sparks your imagination.
