The planning team for Les Amis de ART YARD, includes Appétit Bistro owner Edwin Montoya; Artist//Chef/Holistic healthcare practitioner Catherine de Zagon; ART YARD Managing Director Dennis Buonagura; me and ART YARD Intern and former student Vera Tineo.
Vera is a talented artist who recently earned her bachelor’s degree in art from Hampshire College. It was Vera’s idea to create a print to offer Art Lover level ticket buyers to this event!
In our initial event planning meeting at the restaurant we were surrounded with my French Window paintings (which I created for the venue). Edwin explained that as he hoped the installation has gone far to enhance the atmosphere for diners. He also pointed out the piece which seems to garner the greatest interest from restaurant patrons.
The image in the painting is the view from the Parisian apartment of my friend scholar, writer, and photographer (specializing in moonlit scenes) Jane MacAvock.
Working from my painting, Vera designed and printed this beautiful 4 color silk screen. I added a bit of hand painted embellishment and the limited edition of 42 prints is signed by me and Vera.
THIS PRINT IS INCLUDED in all Art Lover and Art Patron level tickets for our benefit lunch at Appétit Bistro, 540A Willett Avenue, Port Chester this Saturday November 23, from 12:30-2:30pm!!
