Those of us in NYC are grateful for the recent break in the heat. We are deep into planning for ART YARD Art Matters school partnerships. Art making updates from AYB Artists (from our summer locations), books & exhibits we love, and a delicious healthy recipe!

While AYB is officially on summer break, our artists haven’t slowed down one bit! From Brooklyn to the South of France, creativity is in full swing.

We have completed the second week of AYB Summer Session 2025. We were on fire working in dance & emotive movement, sculpting miniatures, writing & illustrating poems, and illustrating postage stamps! Plus some exhibitions to see.

This week we explored the art of illumination with Karla. Seated in a circular formation, drew portraits from observation with Evelyn. At PS 17, our young artists brought mythical creatures to life through brilliant colored illustrations. We also installed our end of year exhibitions at PS 17 & PS 6 and celebrated our Geminis!

As above, so below - art for transit, one-point perspective, AEIOU, installing a show, finishing puppets, inspiring videos, plus an art book to read and a great show in Paris! (thanks TJ!).
